Sharing a few of the Seascapes created by members who attended Amanda Hislop's workshop on 7th June. This was a very hands-on day - literally, since we had our hands in the glue pots to spread glue over the background fabric. It provided a new approach for the majority of us on the workshop!
These are the preliminary textured surfaces in collage, paint and dye on calico or muslin, ready for stitching once they are fully dry, which will add detail and bring them to life.
The example above clearly shows the initial collage of tissue, tea bag paper and scrim to build up texture, which is then coloured with paint or dye.
